Not too long ago, we were able to help out with a bar remodel at Rick’s Sports Bar in Export, PA. That delivery got us thinking about some of the world’s most popular alcohol — and just in time for world cocktail day!

As a form of celebration, we’ve gathered some information and tips for creating classic drinks. If you’re of legal age, we hope you enjoy!

1. Martini

Available in endless flavors, this drink is a mainstay in virtually every bar on the planet. It is rumored to have been invented in the U.S. in the 1860’s, but not everyone agrees. For a basic martini, combine ice, 3 ounces gin, 1 ounce dry vermouth, and lemon twist for garnish in a chilled martini glass.

2. Long Island Iced Tea

Although the origins of this drink aren’t well known, its sweet, delicious taste certainly is. The Long Island is a classic summertime drink consisting of a half ounce of triple sec, gin, tequila, light rum, and vodka. Next, add one ounce of sour mix and fill the rest of the glass with cola. Viola.

3. Margarita

The margarita has been popular as far back as the 1930’s. Whether frozen or on the rocks, this cocktail is great enough to have several restaurants and songs in its honor. To make a basic margarita, moisten the rim of your glass and dip in sugar or salt. Then combine 1.5 ounces of tequila, a half ounce of triple sec, and lime juice and you’ll be ready for a fiesta!
